Practice Management

Mr Roy Peckitt (m)
Practice Manager Responsible for overall running of the Practice and is normally available between 8.00 am - 16.00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Please help us to give a better service. Any suggestions, constructive criticism or complaint about the service within the Practice can be addressed to the Practice Manager or posted in the Suggestion Box on the Reception desk.

Administration

Secretaries
Along with other administration work, the Secretaries deal with all of the Doctors’ referrals to the Hospitals, and liaise directly with Hospital staff regarding any queries for appointments, admission dates, etc. If you have any problems about your referral they will be pleased to help.

The part-time Computer Administrators are responsible for inputting new patients’ records onto the computer system and updating records, as necessary, e.g. Consultants’ letters.

Reception

Reception Team
Our Receptionists have a very demanding job. They are usually your first point of contact and are a valuable source of information. Please be patient if you are kept waiting or appear to be asked some apparently iritating questions as we need to assess the urgency of some calls and ensure full details are available to the G.P. who will probably be carrying out the consultations.

Community Nurses

District Nurses
The District Nurses care for patients in their own homes, advising patients on nursing problems and self-care, and showing carers how to cope in their absence. Duties range from injections and dressings to caring for the terminally ill. Wound Clinics are held at the Rosedale Community Centre. Contact number is 01482 344450.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors are involved in teaching everyone in the family about healthy living, starting with the mother and her new baby. She contributes to the growth of a healthy child and is able to recognise the needs of families in cases where people perhaps may not be fully aware of health risks.

Attached Staff

Our Dietitians provide dietetic advice and assists in the Diabetic Clinic. They are available by appointment on Mondays or Wednesdays

Dispensers

Dispensary Team
A Team Leader is employed to oversee the day to day running of the Dispensary and she is assisted by trained Dispensers. They dispense prescriptions and deal with patients’ queries regarding medications.
Any queries the dispensary staff are unable to deal with will be passed on to a GP for further action.

On Line Appointment Booking now available

We now have a range of appointments that can be booked (or cancelled) on line. Please complete the necessary documentation available from Reception.

A ppointments - Text Message Reminders

To reduce the number of missed appointments we are now sending patients a text message containing their appointment details when a booking is made.

A further message will also be sent 48 hours before the appointment is due as a reminder.

Patient Reference Group

The 2011/2012 Patient Survey Report is now available for perusal. Please click on "Survey Report" under Further Information, on the right hand side.

Updating patients' records

We are currently asking patients to complete some basic details to ensure that our records are 100% correct e.g. telephone numbers. We would also like to take e-mail addresses so that we can ensure the practice Newsletters are seen by as many patients as possible, not just those who attend the surgery.

Pneumonia vaccination

All patients aged over 65 are eligible for a pneumonia vaccination. This is a single injection that provides lifelong protection. If you will be aged 65 or over on 31st March 2014 and have not been vaccinated, please book via reception.
